As I started hacking iPhone apps (in my spare time), I began to dislike the verbosity of Objective-C, somewhat. Nevertheless the UIKit APIs are very rich and comprehensive, but that's beside the point. So for example the tasks like creating Navigation Bar buttons are repetitive, verbose Objective-C method calls. So after scattering the snippets of this kind of code in several controllers, my refactoring instinct 'kicked in'. So I've created a few plain C wrapper functions for these Objective-C init method calls, like so:
The calling code looks a bit cleaner now :-)

That's right. Think about it. Hasn't the United States always been the 'land of opportunities', different from most other countries in the world with lots of freedoms, and strong free market principals? It has been, but unfortunately all this is changing at a rapid pace. With the government and supporting majority in Congress that genuinely believe in socialistic central planning economy, massive government spending programs and huge welfare entitlements, as well as 'punishing success' with massive taxations. I mean has the word 'profit' ever been oh so dirty? Oh, those EVIL, EVIL banks and oil companies with their filthy big profits. Don't worry 'common people', we're gonna get them with TAXES, PENALTIES and FEES. Oh those EVIL, EVIL medical equipment producers. Don't worry 'common people', we're gonna get them with TAXES, PENALTIES and FEES so we could pay for oh so wonderful and very high quality _FREE_ healthcare services for you. Oh, those EVIL, EVIL 'rich' people with $200,000+ a year income. Don't worry 'common people', we're gonna get them with TAXES, TAXES, TAXES.
To me, this big government, socialistic utopia doesn't work. If anything, it creates the class warfare, discourages people to strive for success, and in general destroys a healthy free market 'producer class', but on the other hand grows so called 'zero liability consumer class'. And when 'producer class' loses, everyone loses. That's the fact. But there is hope. The hope of the 'common sense' people will rise to power and will restore free, true capitalistic society, without the big government bureaucratic machine in the way. So then my daughter could chase her dreams, strive for success and opportunities and become whatever she'd like to become in the best country in the world!Comments [0]
